Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs have been one of the biggest surprises in the NFL this season. They had a 9-1 record coming into tonight's primetime Monday Night Football matchup against the 9-1 Los Angeles Rams. Not only has the game been entertaining, it has been one of the best Monday night games of all-time.
Proving that point, Mahomes broke the Monday Night Football record for most passing touchdowns in a game with his sixth touchdown of the evening, as reported by ESPN Stats & Info on Twitter.

Kansas City and Los Angeles are both serious contenders for Super Bowl 53. In the AFC, the Chiefs stand alone at the top of the conference standings. Los Angeles will have to deal with the New Orleans Saints, who beat them head-to-head earlier this season.
As of this writing, Mahomes has completed 30 of his 38 passing attempts on the night for 438 yards, six touchdowns, and one interception. He has been magnificent against a very strong Rams' defense. Los Angeles has made quite a few defensive plays, but they have been unable to hold Mahomes down.
At just 23 years of age in his first year as an NFL starting quarterback, Mahomes has proven that he is a legitimate superstar. He is also viewed as one of the front-runners to win the NFL MVP award this season alongside Rams' star running back Todd Gurley.
If the Chiefs are able to pull off a huge win tonight, Mahomes is going to take yet another leap forward in what has already been a historic season for a first-year starter.
