Joe Montana played for the Kansas City Chiefs in an AFC title game. Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs defeated the Tennessee Titans in the AFC Championship Game on Sunday. They advance to the Super Bowl where they will face the winner of the Green Bay Packers-San Francisco 49ers game.

That was not the only feat of the game for the Chiefs though. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes joined Joe Montana in very rare company.

So 250-plus passing yards, three-plus passing touchdowns and 50-plus rushing yards in multiple career playoff games. Only two people have ever done that.

One was Montana, who is obviously in the Hall of Fame. The other is Mahomes, who is in the third year of his NFL career, and just his second year as a starter.

What might be even crazier, is that Mahomes has done that in two straight games. In the Divisional round against the Houston Texans, Mahomes racked up 321 yards with five touchdown passes, and added in 53 rushing yards.

Then in the AFC Championship game, he threw for 294 passing yards and three touchdown passes, while running for another 53 yards and a touchdown.

Mahomes is simply dominant. This is just further proof that there is really no way to defend him. The quarterback hasn't even reached 25 years old yet, and he's done something that only Montana has done.

It's safe to assume he isn't done either. Patrick Mahomes will likely have a few more games like this before the end of his career. And he'll probably put himself into rare categories a few more times as well.

Patrick Mahomes is must-watch TV. This is just another reason why. He'll dismantle a defense in 10 different ways, and fans will be enthralled every step of the way. Patrick Mahomes now gets to capture the imagination of NFL fans on the sport's biggest stage, the Super Bowl.

Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs will play in Super Bowl LIV on Sunday, Feb. 2 at 6:30 p.m. Eastern.
