The Milwaukee Bucks need to make some kind of move this offseason. Oddly enough Chris Paul continues to pop up in trade rumors, but is he the answer that Giannis Antetokounmpo and Milwaukee need?

On the daily Locked On Mavericks Podcast, host Nick Angstadt and Rylan Stiles (Locked On Thunder) discuss the Chris Paul to Bucks trade idea. Furthermore, if the veteran could be what they need to get to the next level.

Nick Angstadt: Are people overvaluing Chris Paul? For the Bucks and other teams, it seems like he's the savior, right? As if he's going to come in and he's going to right the ship or be the one that takes the Bucks to the next level. Are people overvaluing what Chris Paul could actually bring to a team like the Bucks?

Rylan Stiles: I don't think they're overvaluing him, because I think that he has proven that he can be a good locker room player. If he can somehow produce to this level he did the season again, that's obviously a great addition. I would say that people get a little bit too excited about him…

Nick: If he's part of the Bucks, you watch Chris Paul every single day, do you think that he's going to be like this he's going to take them to like this next level, so I'm kind of worried about the Bucks because the Nets are gonna come out of nowhere next year. I think that the Heat aren't going anywhere, the Celtics should probably be better. It's not going to get any easier for them in the East this year…

Rylan: This season for the Bucks feels a lot like Kevin Durant's last season… I was under the impression that we'd get one more year before Kevin Durant left, he just left early to go to Golden State. This kind of feels like what Bucks fans are going through. I think that the Bucks are in a position where maybe the Thunder could get a bigger package from them because of their desperation. If you're the Bucks how else are you going to improve that team? What's the big draw out there? I think that Chris Paul's one of the best players on the market right now, free agency and trade wise. Maybe Victor Oladipo could be better than him coming off of those injuries. I think that they're kind of forced to go after a guy like Chris Paul and I think that it's something that you would absolutely do as a team that has the space to do it and bring back Giannis. If you're Milwaukee and you swing on Chris Paul, and then Giannis walks, then you're stuck with Chris Paul's contract for another year. Then you don't really have a direction, that would also be not a good thing for Milwaukee. I do think that Chris Paul to the Bucks is interesting. I don't know how he would fit with Giannis but I do think that he would kind of help the role players and boost up the role players a little bit.

Nick: Yeah, whichever role players are left after they have to match salaries to trade for Chris Paul.
