Veteran small forward Evan Turner will work out with the Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday, according to Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports.
Turner, currently a member of the Minnesota Timberwolves, has received permission from the team with a buyout pending:
Turner has only appeared in 19 games this season. He’s averaged 3.3 points, 2.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists with the Atlanta Hawks while shooting 37.3 percent from the field and 85.7 percent from the free-throw line. Atlanta acquired Turner this past summer from the Portland Trail Blazers. The Hawks traded him to the Timberwolves at the trade deadline.
Turner is making $18,606,557 this season, the final year of his contract. He has career NBA averages of 9.7 points, 4.6 rebounds and 3.5 assists in 705 games with the Philadelphia 76ers, Indiana Pacers, Boston Celtics, Blazers and Hawks.
Turner played his college ball at Ohio State. He was the second overall pick in the 2010 NBA Draft.
The Clippers went 37-18 during the first half of the season. They are in third place in the Western Conference standings.
