Los Angeles Clippers guard Patrick Beverley sent out a mysterious tweet to Dallas Mavericks phenom Luka Doncic on Monday night that left NBA fans scratching their heads.

The tweet only included three emojis.

The cryptic tweet sent Twitter ablaze, with some wondering if Beverley is looking to make a jump to the Mavs and join the duo of Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis.

For what it’s worth, the hard-nosed Clippers guard is an unrestricted free agent this offseason, adding fuel to the fire that he could really make a move out of LA.

Adding the point guard to the roster would certainly benefit Dallas. They are currently short on backcourt depth, and Beverley would be a solid fit for the Mavs.

Last year, the tenacious defender averaged 7.6 points to go along with 3.8 assists and nearly a steal per game. Additionally, he shot 40 percent from the three-point line, about two percent higher than his career average.

Signing Beverley would help the Mavericks bolster their defensive prowess. While Doncic has already wowed the NBA with his offensive skills, he is still an improving defender who could use some help on the defensive end.

It’ll be interesting to see what Beverley was trying to get at with his tweet. While it could be something completely harmless, the fans are sure to have a field day interpreting it.
