The Los Angeles Clippers have their backs against the wall, as Ty Lue's team needs to battle back from a 3-2 series deficit against the Dallas Mavericks if they are to prevent an embarrassing first-round exit from the 2021 NBA Playoffs. After his team took a 105-100 home loss in Game 6 Wednesday night, Lue spoke to the media and vocalized the obvious, per Shane Young of Forbes Sports.

The loss was a tough pill to swallow for the Clippers, as they went on a crazy up-and-down ride during the last couple of minutes before eventually absorbing another setback.

Turnovers and head-scratching mistakes in the most important portions of the game doomed the Clippers, but those are items Ty Lue and his team would just have to talk about and address when they gather together and review the match's tape.

Going into Game 6, the Clippers can draw confidence from the fact that the home team has yet to win in this series. Both their wins were in Dallas during Games 3 and 4. The Clippers can't look too far ahead and think about Game 7 as well, as the Mavs have regained their momentum following their Game 5 victory.

Lue has been in tight coaching situations in past playoffs, but getting eliminated in the first round of the playoffs was something not many people prior to the season thought the Clippers would be sweating to avoid.
