Los Angeles Clippers point guard Patrick Beverley has long been a controversial player in the NBA. He is known as a chippy, headstrong instigator who has been in his fair share of dust-ups.
Beverley has never backed down from conflict, and it was a surprise with no one when he and Kevin Durant were involved in a dust-up during the Clippers and Golden State Warriors Game 1 playoffs match-up.
Both Beverley and Durant were ejected from the game, and the Warriors went on to win 121-104. Golden State fans are not ones to forget past indiscretions though, and as expected, Beverley was heavily booed to start Game 2.
Kevin Durant has apologized for his early ejection even though the Warriors won the game. Obviously, he is a more integral part to his team then Patrick Beverley is to the Clippers. Losing your temper and getting ejected because of Beverley's jawing plays right into LA's hands.
There is no doubt that the Los Angeles guard will continue to attempt to get under Durant's skin. Odds of the Clippers somehow besting the Warriors four times in six games are next to none, but it improves if a Warriors' star can get taken out of the picture.
Beverley will continue to draw boos in Oracle, just as he does in Oklahoma City and other cities. He is a player that you love to have on your team, but hate to play against. We will have to wait in see if he can continue to irk members of the Warriors powerhouse.
