LA Clippers forward Patrick Patterson took an inadvertent kick from Portland Trail Blazers guard CJ McCollum as the latter went up for a fadeaway jump shot.

Check out the incident below per Dime.

McCollum was handed a flagrant foul for the incident. Patterson, meanwhile, eventually got up and drained 1-of-2 free throws.

Both teams are considered playoff contenders in the Western Conference. The Blazers, led by McCollum and Damian Lillard, have made six consecutive playoff appearances. They went as far as the Western Conference Finals last season so it's safe to say that they're looking to improve this year.

The Clippers, meanwhile, beefed up their roster via the additions of two two-way superstars in Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. So far, it's been a relatively slow start for the Clippers squad. But with a ton of season left to play, sooner or later, they will be clicking on all cylinders. Once George returns from injury, expect the Clippers defense and offense to be much tighter and smoother.

Analysts believe that almost every team has a shot at the title right now. Will the Clippers finally get that shot? Or will Leonard once again prove that every team he joins is a championship-caliber team?
