Joel Embiid has been one of the biggest mysteries in the league for the past two years.

His ceiling, as high as it is, has been dragged by health concerns leaving him with no games under his belt despite being drafted back in 2014.

But things are expected to change. In Zach Lowe’s podcast aptly titled “The Lowe Post”, Philadelphia 76ers coach Brett Brown confirmed what everyone has speculated, and anticipated, all summer long with every Joel Embiid training video that comes out.

The Sixers’ walking, running, shooting, dunking, and pirouetting center will make his debut against actual NBA opponents when the preseason begins on October 4.

Everyone needs to be reminded that this guy was seriously considered by the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2014 over Andrew Wiggins as the first overall pick, until the concerns about his injury intensified.

A lot of questions still remain unanswered even if Embiid finally graces the court in six weeks, but at least, it’s finally time to put this seven-foot mystery to the real test.
