Coco Gauff takes on Ons Jabeur at the French Open. Our French Open odds series has our Gauff Jabeur prediction and pick. Find out how to watch Gauff Jabeur.

The 2024 French Open moves into the quarterfinals, as the chase for the championship intensifies. The first quarterfinal on Tuesday — you will need to wake up early to watch it if you're in the United States (5:10 a.m. Eastern, 2:10 Pacific) — is between two players who have both played in multiple major finals.

Coco Gauff is the reigning U.S. Open champion and a former Roland Garros finalist. Ons Jabeur has reached the final of both Wimbledon and the U.S. Open, losing three times in major championship matches. These are both highly accomplished players. They are both top-eight seeds in France. They have both played well at this tournament and are part of a larger story on the WTA Tour in which the top players are now gaining more traction than before.

A few years ago, top-10 seeds at women's major tournaments frequently failed to reach the quarterfinal stage of big tournaments. One or two top seeds might get far, but a lot of top-10 seeds would crash out in the early rounds. We're seeing less of that in recent weeks, and we've seen less of it at this French Open. Six of the top eight seeds made it to the quarterfinals, creating big-time matchups such as this one. These are not underdogs or obscure players. This isn't Iga Swiatek versus Aryna Sabalenka, but it's still a top-tier matchup. It's hard to ask for more in a quarterfinal of a major.

Why Coco Gauff Could Cover The Spread

The spread of 5.5 games for this match means that if Gauff wins both sets 6-3, or wins 6-4, 6-2, she will cover. As long as she can win two sets by a more lopsided scoreline than 6-4, she will cover. Given that Gauff has looked really good at this tournament in the first four rounds, she has earned the benefit of the doubt here.

Why Ons Jabeur Could Cover The Spread

If Jabeur can keep each set close, she will cover. The key is to not get beaten decisively — defined as three games or more (6-3 or worse) — in either set. Jabeur is an accomplished player and has had a good Roland Garros tournament. She is an experienced player who will relish the moment. Gauff, as mature as she is, has not faced a player with Jabeur's overall skill in the previous rounds of this tournament. It's very realistic to envision a close match.

Final Coco Gauff-Ons Jabeur Prediction & Pick

The nuances of tennis betting are worth paying to here. There are multiple props which all point to the same outcome: Gauff under 12.5 games at -128, accompanied by under 20.5 total games at -120 and Jabeur under 8.5 games at -112. All three props are in line with a prediction that Gauff will win in straight sets and not need seven games to win either set. No 7-5 sets, no 7-6 sets. Gauff will win 6-4, 6-4, or by any wider margin.

Gauff is playing well enough that she probably won't need seven games to win either set. In that case, with all three props being aligned with the same predicted outcome, you should go to the prop which has the best price. That's Jabeur under 8.5 games at -112. It's better than -120 or -128 for the other similar props.

Final Coco Gauff-Ons Jabeur Prediction & Pick: Jabeur under 8.5 games
