Treyarch should have undergone more beta testing for COD: Black Ops Cold War's League Play, it seems. Just a day after releasing its competitive mode, the game has gone on a banning spree. Multiple items, including Molotov Cocktails and suppressors, have been banned as of the February 9 Patch.

SAY GOODBYE TO MOLOTOVS AND SUPPRESSORS IN COD: BLACK OPS COLD WAR'S LEAGUE PLAY

Citing feedback from players, Treyarch decided to ban a lot of items in the game. This includes popular powerful items such as the Molotov, which deals enormous damage in such a short time in a wide area. Suppressors are also banned, thanks to their ability to conceal players' locations. Scorestreaks Armor and War Machine were also restricted in this patch.

“We've been monitoring feedback and known issues since yesterday’s launch,” says a blog post featuring the changes. “Today’s update introduces a handful of new fixes and restrictions that go beyond the current CDL 2021 ruleset.”

The developers further said that they will continue monitoring game data and listen to player feedback. “Our ultimate goal is to deliver a more varied experience for players by offering certain variations on the rules,” the post continued, “while providing an experience similar to what the pros are playing in the CDL.”

They further encouraged players to continue giving them their feedback. To note, League Play was just released earlier this week in COD: Black Ops Cold War. Sadly, it had major issues at launch. This includes empty CDL classes for first-time players. This patch should have fixed issues by now, as indicated in the patch notes.

Meanwhile, other things changed in this patch. “Firebase Z” updates were introduced. Most important among these is the stability improvements and bug fixes, which should make gameplay smoother for everyone.

COD: Black Ops Cold War is on PC, PS4, Xbox One, PS5, and Xbox Series X/s.
