The Colorado football team finished last season with a losing record after becoming one of the most hyped teams in recent college football history to start the season. The silver lining for the Buffaloes included a win over former national runners-up the TCU Horned Frogs as well as a win over Big Ten program Nebraska. Now, Buffaloes coach Deion Sanders is excited not just for college football to be back, but also for the new EA Sports NCAA Football 2024 video game, as shared in a social media boast on Friday.
Sanders' boast came during a powerful claim made about a Colorado football star by Texas QB Quinn Ewers. Coach Prime made a Heisman related quip about Shedeur Sanders and his upcoming Heisman campaign.
On Friday, Sanders revealed his unfiltered thoughts on the biggest sports video game release in years.
Sanders Excited for New NCAA Video Game
Sanders said he was excited for the new football video game, which is releasing on July 19. He said he can't wait to see how the Colorado football players “in the game” look, and used the hashtag #EAAthlete to describe his affiliation with the game.
Star Colorado cornerback Travis Hunter is included on the cover of this year's game, along with Michigan football running back and defending national champion Donovan Edwards and Quinn Ewers. The video game's release is its first since 2013, the latter of which is still being played with modified rosters.
What Will Colorado Football's 2024 Ranking Be?
Colorado football is moving to the Big 12 Conference in 2024 which could help the program recapture its former glory amid what is expected to be a softer schedule.
The Buffaloes showed lots of promise last season and Shedeur Sanders is expected to be a Heisman Trophy candidate. Hunter is one of the best defensive backs in the country and he played exceptionally well last season despite a lack of help in key times from his team's front seven.
If Travis Hunter can lock down his half of the field, Shedeur Sanders stays consistent and the Buffaloes get better line play, they can be a sleeper team in 2024 and make a New Year's Day bowl game. Expect Deion Sanders' team to be one of the most surprisingly, highly ranked in the Big 12 by the time the new EA Sports NCAA Football 2024 game is released this summer.
