The Indianapolis Colts have made a roster change waving running back James Williams and signing defensive tackle Johnny Robinson.

Robinson was originally signed as an undrafted free agent after April's draft but was waived after just a few weeks with the team. Robinson was a standout at Charleston Southern racking up 123 tackles, 23.5 tackles for loss, 9.5 sacks, two passes defended, and two forced fumbles in 42 career games.

For Williams, this might signal the end of the road for his NFL dream after being released just two days after being signed to the Colts. The Washington State Cougars were a pass-first offense, but Williams was still able to gain 1,173 all-purpose yards.

After going undrafted, Williams was originally signed by the Kansas City Chiefs before being cut loose in June. It was always going to be a longshot for Williams to make the roster with the Colts already sitting with seven running backs, but they were banged up which is why the team brought in Williams.

With the team moving on from Williams it could be a sign they are going to get a couple of their running backs back into the mix.

The running back injuries during camp have been overshadowed by Andrew Luck and when he might be able to return to the field. Luck hasn't practiced since July 28th while dealing with what was originally called a calf injury, but now actually seems to be an ankle injury. There is still guarded optimism that Luck can be back for the start of the regular season, but at this point it feels like anything could happen.
