Ever since their opening week loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, nobody can seem to stop the Dallas Cowboys. They ripped off five wins in a row to take a dominant division lead over the NFC East.

However, with Dak Prescott out with his calf injury against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 8, and a novice quarterback stepping into his shoes, a loss wouldn't have surprised most Cowboys fans.

But Cooper Rush had other plans. He made his first ever NFL start and first true playing opportunity in four seasons with the Cowboys and clearly made the most of it. Rush threw for 325 yards, including two second half touchdowns that propelled Dallas to a 20-16 victory.

“You dream of (playing in games like that),” said Rush. It was just as good as the dream.”

The Cowboys' star wide receivers in Amari Cooper and CeeDee Lamb were more than happy with Cooper Rush's performance.

“I’m proud of him,” said Lamb. “You don’t want to be in a two-minute situation, away, here, because it was loud, you have a lot of drums, horns, fans going crazy. I wouldn’t say everything went as planned, but we got the plays we needed when it counted.”

Both Cooper and Lamb eclipsed the 100-yard mark for Dallas, connecting with Rush for multiple big plays.

“Trust the matchups on the outside. These guys can’t guard us,” said Cooper on his message to the Cowboys QB for the game. “We’re confident. I think we know we can overcome anything.”

Dak Prescott didn't want to rush his return from injury. With his play tonight, Cooper Rush basically said take all the time that you need.
