The Dallas Cowboys may have suffered an unceremonious exit in the Wild Card round of the 2021 playoffs, but quarterback Dak Prescott is not losing confidence in his team.

Prescott firmly believes the Cowboys are a playoff team, and he said as much during the ribbon-cutting of the re-opening of a Walk-On's restaurant in Irving, Texas. After a kid yelled “Dak, we’re winning the Super Bowl this year!”, the veteran QB responded without hesitation and said “Damn right,” per Jon Machota of The Athletic.

Now that is a gutsy declaration from Dak Prescott, but it's something that Cowboys fans will welcome since it has been over two decades and half since the franchise won a Super Bowl.

The Cowboys last won the Super Bowl in 1995, and they haven't even made it to the big game since then. While they frequently make the playoffs, it has always been marred with disappointment and early exits.

Dallas appeared to be on its way to the Super Bowl in 2021 after Prescott led the team to a 12-5 record to claim the NFC East title. Unfortunately, they were knocked out by the San Francisco 49ers in the Wild Card round–to the disappointment of the whole city of course.

Prescott and the Cowboys are surely raring to bounce back and prove they can do so much more than what their early playoffs exit suggest. Nonetheless, it will be difficult for Prescott and co. with Randy Gregory and Amari Cooper now gone.

Prescott has the difficult task of living up to his words. But hey, it might be the motivation he needs to get the Cowboys back to Super Bowl contention.
