Extensions for both Dak Prescott and Amari Cooper are in the works for the Dallas Cowboys according to Stephen Jones, first reported by Dallas Cowboys official website writer David Helman:

The Cowboys already have a lot of long-term pieces in their offense. Dak Prescott and Amari Cooper are their franchise quarterback and wide receiver, respectively.

In Prescott's three seasons in the NFL, he has taken the Cowboys to two playoff berths. He has completed 66.1 percent of his passes for 10,876 yards and 67 touchdowns. He is also dangerous carrying the ball, rushing for 944 yards and 18 touchdowns. Franchise quarterbacks are hard to find, and it's safe to assume that the Cowboys view Dak Prescott as their starting quarterback for the long run.

As for Amari Cooper, his career was spiraling downward when he was a member of the Raiders. After posting two back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons, he finished with only 680 receiving yards in 2017. In the first half of 2018 in Oakland, he struggled with only 280 yards. After being traded to the Cowboys, he was starting to show again why he was the fourth overall pick in 2015. He was arguably the best receiver in the NFL in the second half of the season, with 725 receiving yards in nine games with the Cowboys.

Dak Prescott and Amari Cooper will be get paid sooner or later. There is chemistry between them. Their extensions would certainly keep the Cowboys in contention for the NFC East crown for many more years to come. After they get their contracts, expect Ezekiel Elliott to be the next player in line for the Cowboys to receive a contract extension.
