The Dallas Cowboys were officially eliminated from playoff contention in Week 16 with their loss to the Seattle Seahawks. The defeat was just one of many factors to their disappointing 2017 NFL season.

Perhaps the most notable was the down year from wide receiver Dez Bryant. However, there may have been a reason behind Bryant's struggles this year after he suggested that he had been dealing with some tendinitis issues for some time.

According to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, the Cowboys were reportedly never even made aware of his injury:

Per a league source, Bryant hasn’t gotten treatment from the team for tendinitis. Which means that the Cowboys had no obligation to disclose the injury. It also means there’s a good chance that Cowboys didn’t even know about the condition.

The reports may come as a bit of a surprise considering all the precautions that teams are accustomed to taking when it comes to a player's injury — especially one of Bryant's status. However, it did not seem to be severe enough for the star wideout to disclose with the team.

That said, it is a bit strange that he brings it up now in Week 17. Perhaps that could be his reasoning behind the most disappointing season of his career in which he has played at least 15 games.
