While many have been praising and gawking at the Dallas Cowboys' offense, and for good reason, head coach Jason Garrett took time to credit his defense's Sunday performance against the Miami Dolphins.

While not allowing the touchdown for the first time this season, the Cowboys' defense looked as impressive as it has all year, albeit against an opponent who many consider the worst team in professional football.

The Cowboys did benefit from catching a few breaks courtesy of a big DeVante Parker drop that could have given Miami momentum going into halftime. After the break, however, the Cowboys and their defensive studs clamped down, allowing the Dolphins to only 69 yards in the entire second half and denying them from converting on a single third down.

Their defensive line also took advantage of the diminished Dolphins offensive line, a line that has gotten progressively worse after trading Laremy Tunsil. Josh Rosen was seemingly under pressure the entire game, which is not something you want for a quarterback that is still trying to figure things out.

This game marked the first that featured defensive linemen Robert Quinn, who was serving a two-game suspension for violating the league's performance enhancing drug policy. His presence was definitely felt as he joined fellow defensive linemen stud Demarcus Lawrence as both recorded a sack. This adds to an already stacked Cowboys defense that in addition to Lawrence and Quinn features linebackers Jaylon Smith and Leighton Vander Esch. They will all be needed in order to stop Alvin Kamara, who just had a monster game against Seattle, and the Saints next week.
