Through the last several weeks leading up to the 2018 NFL Draft, there has been constant trade chatter surrounding the Dallas Cowboys' potential interest in Seattle Seahawks All-Pro safety Earl Thomas. This talk hasn't truly dwindled at any point over that stretch with the Seahawk continuing to toy with the idea of moving their star defensive back.

However, the primary issue to a lack of significant movement toward working out a trade has been the high asking price that the Seahawks have placed on Thomas. According to Josina Anderson of ESPN, Seattle has remained firm on those trade demands heading into the second day of the draft.

The Seahawks clearly have a desire to move on from Thomas, but want to secure to significant haul in return to have a strong chance of finding his immediate replacement through the draft with one of the remaining promising talents in the draft. It had been previously reported prior to the draft that the team was looking to garner a couple of high round selections in exchange for the 28-year-old.

Dallas has stayed in the picture as a possible landing spot, but the team has also not budged from their position of being desperate to acquire Thomas at this point in time. There were rumblings that the organization could just wait until next offseason after he completes the final year of his four-year, $40 million and will hit the free agent market. There is plenty of mutual interest on both sides to where getting a deal done could be a swift process if that scenario were to unfold in that manner.

Thomas is still one of the league's top players at his position and has plenty left in the tank to continue to play at an elite level. If anything, it has progressively become more evident that his time in Seattle could be coming to an end in the near future.
