The Dallas Cowboys have their future set at quarterback with Dak Prescott, but it's never bad to have a backup plan and that guy could be Washington Huskies standout Jacob Eason. The Huskies didn't have the best season, but Eason still had a big, big year throwing for 3,132 yards, 23 touchdowns, and eight interceptions.

He is a pro-style quarterback that would fit right in the Cowboys system, and if something went wrong with Prescott or the team decided they wanted to go in a different direction, Eason could be that guy.

The Draft Network gave the following evaluation of Eason calling him one of the best arm talents in all of the country.

“Phenomenal arm talent — his natural ability as a thrower is one of the more impressive physical skillsets you'll find in the country. His ability to rip the ball down the field or into tight windows is top shelf and he's athletic enough to get off of his spot and not lose velocity on the football. Big, strong presence in the pocket who can shrug off casual attempts and roping him down. Really like his confidence shooting the ball vertically and his pace to ensure the ball is getting home as desired and not hanging in the air. His accuracy is pretty on point — low completion percentage is more a byproduct of telegraphed throws and tight chances as compared to not being able to place the ball as desired to throw away from defenders. Found success early — moment wasn't too big for him in 2016.”

Jerry Jones keeps talking about wanting to sign Prescott to a long-term contract but if the Cowboys miss out of the playoffs maybe Jones would change his mind and decide the team wanted to go in a different. Stats wise Prescott has had a big year, but he hasn't quite led the team to victories when they needed him the most.

There is no doubt that Jones is going to bring that up when trying to work out a long-term deal and maybe the two sides won't come to an agreement.

If Eason was thrown in as the starting quarterback right away there might be some growing pains early, but he might be able to lead the Cowboys to higher heights, and maybe even another Super Bowl. If Eason is still there in the second or third round when the Cowboys are picking, they need to take a long look at Eason.
