Detroit Urban Survival Training's Dale Brown surprised many people when it was announced that he would be in the corner of Joaquin Buckley at UFC Vegas 48. He was seen walking out with Buckley and everyone was excited to see what he would do in between rounds.

Unfortunately, ESPN went to commercial instantly when the rounds came to an end and no one was able to see what he was doing in the corner. The Detroit Urban Survival Training star recently revealed what he did during the commercial break.

“I went over and talked to him, coached a little as well, and said the positive things need to be said,” Brown told ClutchPoints. “Also during the fight, I was giving some of my opinion as well. I was very supportive. The coaches, they're right on point. They have an actual plan. So they're not just out there, and I don't know if people know that, they have an actual strategy for how they function. So it was great to be a part of that. I got to reinforce it, and you know, help with that, as well. So we were all on the same page.”

It's not easy to figure out what your role is when you're working with a high-level UFC fighter and his coaches. Dale Brown had to spend time with the team and figure out where he fits in.

The Detroit Urban Survival Training internet sensation figured it out quite quickly as everyone had the same goal at UFC Vegas 48. They all were on the same page because the focus was on Joaquin Buckley and doing what was best for him.

“We're all one page, they supported me, I supported them. Because it was all about Joaquin Buckley's development and winning. That's what he did. So all I did was kind of melt in and meld in. There was absolutely positive flow. We had a really good flow between myself and the coaches that were already there.”

The fight between Joaquin Buckley and Abdul Razak Alhassan somehow went the distance at UFC Vegas 48. It was a close fight and Dale Brown left very impressed by the performances from the two men.

“It was amazing. That just shows you the level of competition you have. So we have two highly skilled competitors that are very dedicated to outcome. You're gonna have a knockdown, drag-out fight, as you saw there, and both of them were great contenders. They were both using skillsets. I think Joaquin Buckley had more options, more intelligent options, and used them. The other guy was excellent. That other guy was outstanding. So it was very close all the way around, except Joaquin Buckley, I think had more strategic skills and he was able to implement more consistently. The other guy was stronger, in some ways. But I think that at the end of the day, the judges got it right, I think it was really, really clear.”

Joaquin Buckley won a close split decision against Abdul Razak Alhassan to start off another win streak. It will have to be seen if he'll be able to have Dale Brown in his corner again in the future.
