With a Dallas Mavericks Game 5 game scheduled for Tuesday against the Phoenix Suns, all eyes will be out west to see who can win the potential Western Conference Semifinals-changing contest. Ahead of the Mavericks-Suns game, we'll be making our Mavericks Game 5 predictions.

The Mavericks and the Suns have engaged in an exciting NBA Playoff matchup in the Western Conference Semifinals. It's been a series filled with shifting momentum, as the Suns secured both games on their home floor to take a two-games-to-none series lead over the Mavericks, with Dallas returning the favor back in Texas.

Powered by some elite three-point shooting and the wizardry of star guard Luka Doncic, the Mavericks have not only made this NBA Playoff matchup a competitive series, but they have also given their fans hope that they can emerge victorious over the top-seeded Suns.

The series shifts back to Phoenix on Tuesday for a pivotal Game 5. In NBA history, the Game 5 winner of a series tied at two games apiece has gone on to win the series 82 percent of the time. Needless to say, this will be an important contest for both squads.

The Mavericks will need top contributors, such as Doncic, to play like an MVP candidate while also needing secondary role players, like Dorian Finney-Smith, to keep up their stellar play.

That said, here are some bold Mavericks predictions for Game 5 of their NBA Playoff matchup against the Suns.

3 Mavericks Predictions For Game 5 Vs. Suns

3. The Mavericks continue their stellar shooting from three-point range

The Mavericks are coming off an excellent showing from downtown, as they knocked down 20 triples at a scorching 45.5 percent clip as a team. Leading the way were Finney-Smith, who made eight, and Davis Bertans, who connected on four three-point attempts.

While Dallas almost certainly won't hit 20 threes as a team again, it's clear that it's an area where they can continue to attack the Suns. Look for the likes of Finney-Smith, Brunson, Bertans and Spencer Dinwiddie to continue their sweet shooting in Game 5.

2. The Mavericks hold Devin Booker and Chris Paul to under 40 points combined

Paul and Booker are obviously the engines of the Suns' offense. After exploding for 58 and 42 points combined in the series' first two contests, Booker and Paul's scoring has been much more contained since the series has shifted to Dallas.

Finney-Smith and fellow wing Reggie Bullock have stepped up to make life uncomfortable on the offensive end for both Booker and Paul. While stars like that can't be held down forever, it's clear that the length and athleticism of the two Mavericks wings is having a definite effect on the rhythm of the Suns stars.

Look for both Booker and Paul to be contained once again in Game 5 by a Mavericks defense predicated on switching.

1. Luka Doncic explodes for a 40-point triple double

This Mavericks team is filled with capable secondary players, like Brunson, Finney-Smith, Dinwiddie and Maxi Kleber. Make no mistake though. This team will go as far as Luka Doncic can take them.

Doncic erupted for 45 points, 12 rebounds and eight assists back in Game 1, with the Suns barely escaping with the victory. In 23 career playoff games, Doncic has scored 30 or more points in 12 of them.

The Mavericks will likely need another vintage playoff performance from their young superstar if they want to emerge with the crucial Game 5 victory.

Doncic will explode for a 40-point triple double, leading Dallas to their third straight win.
