The 2016-17 season has officially come to a close with the Golden State Warriors topping the Cleveland Cavaliers for their second NBA title in three years. With both the Dubs and Cavs dominating the postseasons, teams and players have shifted their attention to offseason to find ways to improve individually and as a unit. One guy you know is putting in offseason work is the star point guard for the Portland Trail Blazers in Damian Lillard in a recent Twitter Q&A session made it clear what player he would like to see his team push to acquire, if possible.

The man everyone has been talking about since the trade deadline, Paul George has seen his name being prominently mentioned in trade rumors over the last few months because of his reported strong interest in joining his hometown Los Angeles Lakers. However, the Indiana Pacers have made it clear that they have no intention of moving the All-Star forward at this moment.

His addition to the Trail Blazers would arguably provide the piece the team is missing towards becoming one of the top teams in the Western Conference. It would put them a major step closer to competing with the Warriors behind their big three of George, Lillard, and C.J. McCollum.

Portland has yet to express any significant interest in acquiring George, but that could change over the offseason depending on how things unfold across the league. There could be several teams looking to make a move for the 27-year-0ld such as the Lakers, Boston Celtics, and Cavaliers.

For the time being, Lillard will shoulder the load of attempting to make the Trail Blazers a real threat in the Western Conference against the high-powered Warriors.
