Damian Lillard is one of the most electrifying players in the NBA. But, he’s also a huge family man who takes pride in having three beautiful children with Kay’La Hanson, his long-time girlfriend and now fiancee. Damian Lillard’s Fiancee: Kay’La Hanson
Hanson is originally from Las Vegas, but actually met Dame when they were both attending Weber State University in Utah. Lillard was starring on the basketball team, while she was studying nursing. That means they’ve been dating for at least 10 years, considering Lillard came into the league in 2012. However, they took quite a while to eventually get engaged. That magical moment finally came to fruition during All-Star Weekend in Chicago in February of last year.
While there was a much different atmosphere at the event because of the COVID-19 pandemic, Dame threw a party with his inner circle in the Windy City. It was at that event where he finally proposed to Kay’La Hanson. As for her profession, well, you wouldn’t think she has to do much considering the type of money Lillard is raking in. But between being a mom of three kids now and the owner of a beauty salon in Portland, Hanson certainly keeps herself busy.
Their journey together started before ever getting engaged though when they welcomed their first child into the world named Damian Lillard Jr. in 2018. This is what Lillard had to say after having his first kid, via the Portland Tribune:
“It was a long labor, but it was a great experience. There’s a certain level of worry any time you have a child born, and also for my girlfriend. He was born healthy, and she got through it healthy as well. It’s a lot off my shoulders. I don’t think there’s really any way to describe it. It’s a different level of excitement. It was my son, looking into my eyes.”
Then in January, the twins were born. One girl named Kali Emma Lee Lillard and one boy named Kalii Laheem Lillard. Just look at this family of five now:

What a sight. It’s not yet known when Lillard and Hanson will officially tight the knot, but it doesn’t seem like a huge priority at this point considering they already have a full-blown family. She is also a frequent user of Instagram, where Hanson has over 16,000 followers on the platform. You can find tons of photos on her profile of their family, Dame, selfies, celebrations, and everything in between. According to her Instagram, the name of her salon is Dipped, which is located in Lake Oswego, Oregon. Not far from Portland. The main service Hanson offers at her business is nails, where the Instagram page showcases the many different styles that are available.
Dame went through a very tough 2020 where he mourned six family members, including an aunt and a cousin. There were also two other people in his inner circle who were shot to death. All of these unfortunate events took a toll on Lillard’s mental health, but having his own kids and Fiancee definitely made things a little easier to cope with.
As you can see, Lillard has a pretty good life. A great family with youngsters who will probably grow up to be basketball stars, Kay’La Hanson by his side for the last decade, and lots of money to provide.
