Toronto Raptors swingman DeMar DeRozan has put the finishing touches on a brilliant 2016-17 season, dropping 38 points in a close 96-94 win against a playoff hungry Miami Heat team on Friday night.

DeRozan's latest performance also put his resume up above one of the franchise greats, surpassing Vince Carter for the most 30-point games in a season with his 31st tonight.

The All-Star wing was sizzling hot during the opening 14 minutes of the game, dropping 21 points including this Julius Erving-like up-and-under finish through contact.

The Heat were at his mid-range mercy all game long, with creative spin moves, teardrops, and his all-around craftiness on the floor.

Having already surpassed Carter on his way to becoming the franchise's all-time leading scorer back in December, DeRozan has been the glue that holds this Raptors team together after an unfortunate wrist injury to backcourt mate Kyle Lowry, and the transition period that came along with the mid-season additions of Serge Ibaka and P.J. Tucker.

Toronto's record is 24-7 when DeRozan drops 30 or more points in a game this season.
