Dallas Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki is set to be one of the few superstar players to play in the NBA Africa Game on Friday.

Prior to the start of the game, Nowitzki participated in a friendly game of HORSE with New York Knicks forward Kristaps Porzingis and Brooklyn Nets forward Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, where his age was on full display in his attempt to dunk the ball after a lob.

It didn't take long for Nowitzki to give a comedic response to his muffled attempt to throw down a one-handed dunk.

Dirk Nowitzki, throughout his career, was never an overly athletic player even during his heyday. In fact, he has often times poked fun at himself for his lack of true athleticism.

Keep in mind, he's now 39 years old and into the sunset of his career, and him throwing down this type of dunk at this point would be a huge surprise. It's no strike against Nowitzki, but rather that Father Time is steadily catching up to him.

Nowitzki is just a few weeks removed from inking two-year, $10 million deal to return for his 20th season in the league. He has kept an open mind toward possibly playing beyond next year.
