One of the more successful record producers of today revealed that he was once part of the Orlando Magic organization.

He wasn't one of its stakeholders, nor a part of its front office.

Appearing in a video uploaded by Sama'an Ashrawi of SMNTCS, DJ Khaled revealed that back in 1992, he sold his mixtapes to the team's players, including Shaquille O'Neal who was on his rookie year.

The said interview clip that was taken for Revolt TV was thought to be lost until found recently. The Terror Squad DJ talked about  how he “hustled” for his music and what that experience taught him:

“I used to live in Orlando and I actually was a ball boy for the Magic, and I used to sell my mixtapes back in the locker rooms to the players. Every time an NBA player pulled up to the parking lot, they were bumping that DJ Khaled mixtape … It was a great experience for me because I got to see these guys come from the bottom, like when Shaq first got signed to Orlando. And then still be his friend, when I see him and show love and salute, he know where I come from, meaning from the bottom, hustling this music.”

It's a good thing this video surfaced and was shared as it shows how someone as successful as DJ Khaled also started from the bottom. It can also serve as motivation for anyone who is passionate about their craft but is struggling at the moment. It goes to show that anything is possible if you don't give up on your dreams.
