The 2021 National League Wild Card Game between the Los Angeles Dodgers and St. Louis Cardinals was a gripping drama, going into the bottom of the ninth with a score of 1-1. That's when Chris Taylor played hero, blasting a two-run dinger off Alex Reyes to walk off the Cardinals and send the Dodgers to the NLDS for a historic matchup against the San Francisco Giants.

Much earlier in the night, Max Scherzer was on the mound for the Dodgers. It certainly wasn't Mad Max's best performance, as he didn't even make it through five innings before getting pulled by manager Dave Roberts, much to his dismay. He was certainly relieved that Los Angeles wound up pulling it out despite his shaky performance, and he blew off some steam with an absolutely epic celebration.

An admittedly intoxicated Scherzer wound up doing a shirtless interview with TBS amid the festivities, and it was awesome:

Being drunk and shirtless is always a sign that a celebration is getting wild. It's hard to blame Scherzer for letting loose after what transpired.

The Dodgers will need Scherzer to step up his game moving forward in the playoffs if they're going to repeat as World Series champions, though they're so loaded maybe they can withstand him not being at his best. While Trevor Bauer is still banished and Clayton Kershaw is out for the playoffs, Walker Buehler and Julio Urias have had amazing seasons. Los Angeles also has tons of talent in the lineup to put runs on the board, plus an outstanding bullpen.

This NLDS against the Giants could be one for the ages. The Dodgers and Giants battled to the very end for the NL West crown, with San Francisco ultimately winning the division by a game with 107 wins.

Buckle up!
