The Los Angeles Dodgers have had a successful start to their 2022 season. The additions to their roster (such as Freddie Freeman) have all helped greatly in their quest for another World Series title. However, one of their star's bats have failed to generate anything in their last few games.

Mookie Betts hasn't looked like the same star that he once was for the Dodgers. Betts' struggles were on full display against Yu Darvish and the San Diego Padres' pitching staff. The star outfielder didn't record a hit in his five plate appearances. That wasn't the worst of it, though: Mookie Betts was struck out in FOUR of those five at-bats. Yikes.

After the game, Betts acknowledged that he didn't perform up to par for the Dodgers in the game. The outfielder, however, promised to bounce back stronger after this abysmal appearance. (via Juan Toribio)

“Seemed like every every situation, I was up, and I failed. I let us down. Be ready for tomorrow.”

Betts hasn't looked like his old self in the early portions of the season, and it can be seen in the statistics. The Dodgers star is slashing career-lows in nearly every batting stat available to us. He's still an average to above-average hitter, but Dave Roberts and the fanbase are expecting more out of their star in the future.

The Dodgers will need Betts' bat to come alive for the season. There's still a long way to go in the regular-season, though, which is a great thing for Betts. Hopefully, he regains some semblance of his form from last season.
