The Miami Dolphins are emerging as the clear-cut frontrunner to trade for Houston Texans star QB Deshaun Watson, but it still won't be easy given the civil lawsuits he's facing. Nevertheless, Dolphins head coach Brian Flores was asked about the possibility of Watson joining the team and where it would leave current QB1 Tua Tagovailoa. Via Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald:

It's certainly a smart idea to not say anything about Watson because of tampering purposes as Jackson noted. It would also be hard to imagine the Dolphins just throwing Tua to the wayside if Watson landed in South Beach. The former Alabama standout hasn't been great this season as Miami sits at 1-6, but he does have a 69.5% completion rate in four contests while also throwing for seven touchdowns.

Watson meanwhile has made it clear he wants to be traded. But, Dolphins owner Stephen Ross reportedly wants all of his lawsuits to be resolved by the November 2nd NFL Trade Deadline, which is just a week away. Needless to say, that could be very difficult.

Flores is committing to Tagovailoa as his number one signal-caller, but if Watson did ultimately become a Dolphins player, he would definitely have some stiff competition for the starting spot, depending on how long the Texans star could be suspended by the league.
