The Miami Dolphins have been shifting their roster this offseason with the departure of several key players on the roster due to financial reasons. It has also seen the team bring aboard a few new faces to help fill the void left.

Much of the team's focus has been on the defensive side of the ball, hoping to provide stability ahead of next season. With that in mind, the Dolphins are holding a visit with free agent safety Kenny Vaccaro on Thursday that could lead to the front office presenting him with a one-year deal, according to Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald.

Vaccaro has received little interest over the last couple of months after hitting the open market for the first time in his career. He spent his first five years in the league with the New Orleans Saints, where he developed into one of the better players at his position behind his hard-hitting approach on the field.

However, injuries have also factored into the equation, as he has only played one complete season in his career. This was the case this past December, as he saw his 2017 campaign end prematurely due to a groin surgery.

Injuries aside, Vaccaro does have much to offer on the field that could make him a high-impact player wherever he lands this offseason.

The Dolphins don't necessarily have a need at that position given that they have veteran safety T.J. McDonald under contract for the next four years, worth $24 million. He shares a similar playing style with an emphasis on being a hard-hitting safety that works well in the box against the run, while still showing some value as a zone coverage asset.

With Miami being the first team to show significant interest, this could quickly lead to the two sides working out a short-term deal in the near future.
