The Duke Blue Devils picked up their biggest win of the Mike Krzyzewski farewell tour on Friday night when they stunned No. 1 Gonzaga 84-81. Coach K has plans to retire at the end of this season, which has been one of the main talking points regarding Duke's season, but it seems he's not the only coach set to depart the program.
Duke's head football coach, David Cutliffe, and the organization have reportedly come to terms on a mutual agreement for separation. The decision was announced by Duke's Vice President and Director of Athletics, Nina King, on Sunday.

The agreement to part ways comes following a disappointing season from the Blue Devils. Duke finished dead last in the ACC Coastal division, going winless in eight games against conference opponents. Duke was 3-9 overall on the year, but 0-8 in conference play.

Cutliffe has been the head coach at Duke since 2008, but even his longevity couldn't protect him from getting ousted following the dismal campaign in 2021. Across 14 years at Duke, Cutliffe has a coaching record of 77-97, leading the Blue Devils to three bowl wins out of six appearances. Prior to his stint at Duke, Cutliffe was the head coach at Ole Miss from 1998-2004.
Cutliffe was named the ACC Coach of the Year in 2012 and 2013. He also earned the Walter Camp Coach of the Year award and the AFCA Coach of the Year award in 2013, when he led Duke to a 10-4 record and an appearance in the Chick-Fil-A Bowl against the Johnny Manziel-led Texas A&M Aggies.
With Cutliffe out, Duke's Associate Head Coach, Trooper Taylor, will take over as interim head coach while the program undergoes a national search for Cutliffe's long-term replacement.
