There's a lot of tension going about in the nation at the moment, particularly in the nation's capital. With the next turn of presidency set to take place this month with President-Elect Joe Biden, Congress gathered in the U.S. Capitol to verify the “controversial” electoral count that would solidify Biden's victory.
Supporters of sitting President Donald Trump turned out to the Capitol for a once peaceful protest that quickly turned violent. Trump supporters at some point were able to successfully breach the U.S. Capitol in numbers, desiring to make their demands heard in what they believe to be a fraudulent election that's played against Trump.
Dwyane Wade, like many other prominent voices, noticed the obvious flaw with the ongoing situation in Washington and made his bold thoughts known on Twitter:
As the situation about the Capitol has suspended the verification of electoral votes by the Congress until further notice, pending everyone's safety in the matter. The end goal for all parties is that no one is seriously harmed in the violent protest that's transpired on Wednesday.
After passing off a false narrative of a fraudulent election, Trump has ignited his campaign base to take to the streets in hopes of flipping the results. During the discombobulation of election day, Trump took to his Twitter page to forewarn voters of fraudulent activity in certain swing states in order to avoid a scenario in which he wasn't re-elected.
Now, those tensions have boiled over as the President's days in office near their end.
