EA College Football 25 completely revamps the kicking system with a new mechanic that improves the overall experience. Kicking in modern EA Sports games has been fine, but EA Orlando wants to go the extra mile and improve other gameplay elements. Aside from passing, new player abilities, and the new Wear & Tear system, this new kicking mechanic elevates the experience to another level. Stick around and we'll show you how it works.

How Does EA College Football 25 Kicking Work?

In EA College Football 25's new Kicking mechanic revolves around a new green meter that indicates kick accuracy. Essentially, matching your kick with the green zone will result in a more accurate kick. However, the size of your green zones depend on a few factors.

Overall, your kicker's ratings as well as the distance of the kick dictate how wide your green zone will be. If you're going for a chip shot field goal, then your green zone should be wide. However, if you're attempting a 54-yarder in rough weather conditions, your green zone will be significantly smaller.

EA College Football 25's kicking mechanic also takes into account the speed of your kick. For example, the further your kick, the faster the ball moves, making field goals harder to convert.

How Do You Kick the Ball in EA College Football 25?

To kick a ball in EA College Football 25, you need to press the A/X button two separate times. The first is when your ball icon reaches the green portion of the kicking meter. Them, you need to press A/X again right before the ball reaches the red portion of the power meter. Overall, these two steps include:

  • Your ball is on the green portion of the kicking meter
  • Right before the ball before it reaches the red portion on the power meter

Attempting a perfect kick requires you to reach both the green meter and maximum power for your kick. However, missing your green zones and hitting red zones will just result in inaccurate kicks. While they still might reach your target area, you increase the risk of a missed field goal or out-of-bounds kick. So take your time, recruit solid kickers, and play smart.

This new kicking mechanic looks pretty similar to previous Madden titles, but the new green zones give it an added depth to gameplay.

Overall, that includes everything you need to know about the new Kicking mechanics in EA College Football 25. We look forward to seeing how it feels when we get our hands on EA College Football 25. If you want, check out some of the other important details from the deep dive.
