According to a tweet on Sunday afternoon from Mike Garafolo of NFL Network, the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles rewarded starting offensive guard Stefen Wisniewski with a bonus.

Although Wisniewski did not do enough to qualify for a $250,000 playing-time incentive bonus as part of his contract, the Eagles decided to give it to him anyway. It's essentially a signing bonus, according to Garafolo.

“Eagles G Stefen Wisniewski narrowly missed a $250k playing time incentive this year so the Eagles said ‘no problem, we appreciate guys who block three guys on one play in the playoffs' and redid his deal this week to include a $250k signing bonus for 2018,” Garafolo said.

Garafolo is certainly right, as Wisniewski took out three Atlanta Falcons defenders on one screen pass from Eagles quarterback Nick Foles to running back Jay Ajayi that went for huge yardage. The Eagles went on to win their NFC Divisional game over the Atlanta Falcons in a defensive slugfest, 15-10.

Football simply runs in Wisniewski's family, as his father Leo Wisniewski played nose tackle with the Baltimore and Indianapolis Colts for four seasons in the early 80's. His uncle, Oakland Raiders star guard Steve Wisniewski, was an eight-time Pro Bowl selection during the 90's.

Wisniewski, who just finished his second full season with the Philadelphia Eagles, spent his first four seasons with the Raiders and then his next season with the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2015. In early March of 2017, Wisniewski signed a three-year contract extension with the Eagles after previously signing a one-year deal in 2016 with the team.
