It is as bad as originally feared, the Philadelphia Eagles have announced that Carson Wentz is done for the year after tearing his ACL on Sunday.

For those who may have missed it, during a stellar performance against the Los Angeles Rams, Carson Wentz would get banged up and was forced to leave the game. Initial reports all inferred what we now know to be factual, as Wentz is done for the season.

After the game, Nick Foles, who replaced Wentz in relief duty, spoke about the entire debacle.

As it is with everyone else who likes the Eagles, Nick Foles was in shock when Wentz went down.

“I just saw him favoring his leg a little bit and it’s just one of those things where he toughs it out and threw a touchdown,” Foles said of Wentz in his post game presser. “He’s one of the toughest players I’ve played with and then [he] came to the sideline and got checked and [I] was just told, ‘Be ready to go in,’ and that’s when I went in.”

“Everyone’s really excited because we put in a lot of work this season. We’ve won a lot of games. Great team effort,” said Foles. “Carson’s been a big piece of that puzzle. Everyone’s been excited about the win, yeah, but when you have your starting quarterback go down, it’s emotional. It was emotional for me, I work with him every day. We do everything together. I’m excited we won but at the same time, I’m dealing with it emotionally with him going down. You never want that.”

Are the Eagles now toast without Wentz? Does Philly make a call to someone outside of Foles to play QB?

Either way, what a shame.
