Like most of his NBA contemporaries, Los Angeles Lakers enter JaVale McGee also loves to express his personality through artwork on his body.

The 7-foot athletic marvel is currently on his second year in L.A., tallying 6.6 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks in 16.6 minutes per game.

While his steady interior presence has been big for the Lakers, it’s his intriguing persona that endeared him to his teammates and the LA brass. Given his eccentric nature, JaVale McGee has some interesting choice of tattoos placed in rather unusual locations.

Let’s have a look at all the known tattoos inked on the 32-year-old slot man’s body.

JaVale McGee's tattoos and their significance to his life

JaVale McGee first entered the league as the 18th overall pick by the Washington Wizards back in 2008. He had no visible body ink at the time, electing to have all his artwork done on his chest and stomach area. Interestingly enough, he was once quoted in a PEAK video claiming that visible tattoos are “unprofessional”.

He likely had a change of heart in the coming years, as he eventually had visible ones done on his arms.

McGee has the word “PAMELA” inked on his right chest — a clear homage to his mother, Women’s Basketball Hall of Famer Pamela McGee. JaVale McGee also holds the distinction as the first son of a former WNBA player to play in the NBA.

On his left pec is an image of a cross and basketball, which is likely a tribute to a deceased loved one. It remains unclear who the tattoo is dedicated for.

Scribbled right below his chest area is the phrase “Truly Blessed”, which just happens to be one of the colorways of his PEAK Relentless Dunk Contest Shoes.

JaVale McGee also has a huge green star and the word “Amen” on his left abdomen.

Judging by this shirtless picture of JaVale McGee during the Warriors’ championship parade in 2018, he had more colorful ink done on his upper torso area. A striking portrait of America's first president George Washington is depicted on his left chest.

Speaking of championships, JaVale McGee already has two titles under his belt in 2017 and 2018. The 12-year vet was so delighted by this feat that he immortalized the Larry O'Brien trophy by having it tattooed on his left forearm.

Shortly after the Warriors' repeat the following season, JaVale McGee had another trophy done next to the previous one. A third might be in order if the Lakers manage to win it all this year.

In true fashion, JaVale McGee has been known to have an alter-ego named “Pierre”. The two-time champion introduced us to his second persona right around the last NBA lockout in 2011.

JaVale McGee likes to bring out “Pierre” by putting his left index finger— with an image of a mustache — right below his nose.

Goofy antics aside, it seems that McGee is also a big fan of western art. JaVale has a huge tattoo of the Renaissance piece “David” crafted by legendary Italian sculptor Michaelangelo on his right forearm. Right under it is an image of a red rose, another popular choice for tattoo aficionados.

While his Michaelangelo tat was indeed classy, McGee couldn't help but unleash his quirky side through other designs. Everyone loves pizza, but JaVale McGee took it to new heights by having it inked on his left wrist. His flavor of choice? One cheesy slice of pepperoni pizza.
