Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones wasn't happy with being kept in check Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings, but he was happy to have long term security with a new deal signed.

Jones said after the game that he has so much respect for owner Arthur Blank and also a lot of love for the organization.

“I had some peace of mind,” Jones said via ajc.com. “I talked to (owner) Mr. (Arthur) Blank. Just talking about how appreciative I am of him. The love I have for the organization and things like that. That’s out the way now. It’s more on us now and getting ready to play football.”

Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan said one of the big reasons getting the ball to Jones was hard was because the Vikings were double-teaming him.

“They had two players over him basically the entire game,” Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan said. “That makes it tough. They had hard inside leverage from Rhodes and a safety over the top. It creates other opportunities for other guys.”

Jones wasn't using that as an excuse and knows no matter who's on the field, he needs to get open and make plays to help the team win games going forward.

“Make plays when it’s time to make plays when our number is called, things like that,” Jones said. “We didn’t do that today.”

It wasn't going to get any easier for Jones and the Falcons because their next game is on Sunday Night Football against the Philadelphia Eagles.
