Atlanta Falcons star wide receiver Julio Jones has been dealing with a nagging calf injury over the last couple of weeks that has limited his availability on the practice field.

Jones was able to take a step forward on Thursday with his participation after missing Wednesday's practice due to the ailment, according to Jason Butt of The Athletic.

There hasn't been any serious concern about the injury up to this point, but the Falcons just wanted to give Jones some added rest during the week in order for him to be able to play each week. It should also add more assurance that he will be on the field for Week 4 action against the Cincinnati Bengals.

This injury has yet to impact Jones' play on the field come Sunday as he has been among the most productive players at his position through the first three games with 20 catches for 329 receiving yards, though he has not yet recorded a single touchdown over that span.

The only true concern about Jones is the lack of significant involvement in the red zone. There is still a clear issue with getting him in the position to where he can excel in that part of the field. This has been a problem that dates back to last season and even longer as he totaled only three touchdowns in the 2017 campaign. Jones has the size and physical ability to be a major factor in the red zone that the Falcons simply can't figure out how to properly use to their advantage.

As it stands, Atlanta is a 4-point favorite at home against Cincinnati, according to BetOnline.ag. To place a bet on the game or any others, click here and use promo code CLUTCH50 for a 50% Welcome Bonus when you signup with BetOnline.ag!
