This weekend, Florida State football found itself on the wrong end of controversy when they were left out of the College Football Playoff in favor of the Alabama Crimson Tide despite finishing the season as an undefeated ACC Champion (Alabama lost a game this year). The shocking snub led many to question the validity of the College Football Playoff ranking system, as Florida State became the first ever undefeated Power Five champion to be excluded from the big dance.

One person who feels for the Seminoles is none other than Alabama football star defensive back Terrion Arnold, who recently spoke on why he will be playing not only for his own team, but for Florida State when his Crimson Tide take on the Michigan Wolverines next month.

“I'm gonna go out there and play for my guys and play for Bama nation, but even play for [Florida State] too, being from Tallahassee,” said Arnold on ESPN's The Paul Finebaum Show (via Touchdown Alabama on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter).

Terrion Arnold's words are certainly a kind gesture to Seminole nation in the wake of the controversy, even if they won't do much to numb the pain of the last few days. Alabama punched their ticket to the playoff with an SEC Championship win over No. 1-ranked Georgia, and many feel that the injury to Florida State quarterback Jordan Travis unfairly played a role in the committee's decision to snub the Seminoles.

Florida State will look to complete their undefeated season and stake a claim as the real national champions when they face the Georgia Bulldogs in the Orange Bowl later this month.
