You can rest for a little bit, Dave Chappelle. It appears Floyd Mayweather Jr. would like to take the spotlight.
A teenage boy approached Mayweather after the game between the Los Angeles Clippers and the Memphis Grizzlies at Staples Center last Saturday. The fan, who was wearing a Clippers jersey, wanted to take a picture with the undefeated boxing legend.
But when Mayweather saw that the teenage boy's nails were painted, he blatantly refused the request and quickly stormed out of the area (via TMZ).
“You got painted nails, I don't take pictures with guys with no painted nails.”
So that does that mean he only wants pictures with guys with painted nails? Double negatives, don't not avoid doing it.
Clearly surprised, the poor fan was left to rue the insult. He couldn't help but express his disappointment and outrightly called Mayweather a “homophobe.” Somewhere out there, Chappelle is writing more jokes.
“Damn bro, why you a homophobe? Floyd doesn’t want to take a photo with me ‘cause my nails are painted. Bruh, really? I didn’t mean to rush him like that.”
According to TMZ, a representative from Mayweather's camp attempted to downplay the situation, claiming the boxing icon refused the teenage boy's request because he was in a rush to leave the arena.
Floyd Mayweather Jr. was also in the news recently as he reportedly plans to organize a charity basketball game with Manny Pacquiao in Las Vegas this December. It's still unclear if painted nails would be restricted.
