Former NBA big man Glen Davis arrested on drug charges
Ever wondered what has happened to former NBA big man Glen Davis? Well, according to a report by Brian Kuebler of ABC2 WMAR Baltimore, the player also known as “Big Baby” has been arrested by authorities back in February when marijuana was discovered in his hotel room.
According to court records, the hotel owner smelled marijuana coming from Davis’ room on February 7th.
When the owner knocked on room 208, someone inside the room told him to “F*@# off!”
Aberdeen police then responded to the hotel and Davis gave signed consent to search his room
“They recovered 126 grams of marijuana,” said Aberdeen Police Lieutenant William Reiber, “In addition to that there was a brief case that contained 92,164 dollars of U.S. currency along with a ledger that contained language which is consistent with someone involved in the sale and distribution of narcotics.”
Glen Davis last played in the NBA in the 2014-15 season for the L.A. Clippers, when he was just 29. Still only 32 today, Davis has apparently plunged to a low point where he only appears on headlines when he’s making questionable acts instead of pulling down rebounds and throwing his weight around the paint.
Davis, who won a title with the Boston Celtics in 2008, is set to appear in court in Maryland this coming April.
Davis’ attorney, who could not do an on-camera interview about this case said that Mr. Davis adamantly maintains his innocence and looks forward to his day in court to clear his good name.
Glen “Big Baby” Davis is due in a Bel Air courtroom early next month.
In eight seasons in the NBA, Davis racked up averages of 8.0 points and 4.4 rebounds in 514 games.
