Frank Kaminsky had a solid start to his NBA career. He played in 81 regular season games last season for the Hornets while averaging just about 7 points and 4 rebounds per game. He shot a respectable 34% from deep, but didn't shoot too well from the field in general. He'll aim to improve his shooting, but that isn't the facet of his game he is planning on working on the most this summer.

Rick Bonnell, of the Charlotte Observer, asked Frank Kaminsky the other day what his biggest flaw was and what he needs to work on. This is what Frank had to say:

“I’ve got to be a better overall defender. I was overwhelmed at times. My preparation, obviously, needs to get better. I so want to be a more consistent player. I’d have a good game and then disappear in the next.”

You have to love hearing when young players understand the most important thing they need to improve on. Playing defense last year was extremely tough for Kaminsky as he lacked the athleticism to keep up with the opposing power forwards in the league.

Kaminsky knows that improving his defense is what will get him playing time. The Hornets lost Al Jefferson this summer and will need some of their back-ups to step it up in the front-court. Frank Kaminsky may be one of those players if his defense does become better and he becomes a more complete player.
