Paul “sOAZ” Bayer is returning to the European League of Legends scene after an unsuccessful year abroad in the NA region. sOAZ may be making a return but it won't be to the flagship League of Legends European Championship and it won't be as a pro player. The French Top Laner will be taking his talents to his home country where he intends to mold the next generation of French stars as the coach of LDLC OL.

sOAZ was a very prominent player in the EU region. He made it all the way to the finals in 2011 in the first-ever Worlds. Ironically, the very team that denied him a world title would be his home for many successful years. He first found success with EU team against All authority before finding his footing in Fnatic. sOAZ made it to multiple Worlds appearances before finally making it back to the finals in Worlds 2018 with Martin “Rekkles” Larsson.

He transferred to Misfits following their defeat at Worlds but soon left after a dismal split. His final moments as a pro player saw him playing for the Immortals banner for six months before being bumped down to its Academy league. It's certainly not the most graceful exit for a former Worlds contender but he'll have his chance with his new arrangements.

sOAZ is the latest of many pro players that took to trying their hand at coaching the game. The most recent addition to the list of player-turned-coach is none other than Team SoloMid's former star Mid Søren “Bjergsen” Bjerg. Hopefully, sOAZ finds success in France as LDLC OL's new coach in the 2021 season!
