It is noticeable that a Hall of Fame quarterback nicknamed “The Gunslinger” is praising the poise and tranquility of a rookie quarterback making his starting debut. That is exactly what Brett Favre did, stating how impressed he was with Daniel Jones in a 32-31 comeback win for the New York Giants over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The former Packer great knows a thing or two about fourth quarter comebacks; he sits in ninth place all time with 28 game-winning drives in the fourth quarter. Jones' backup Eli Manning sits just behind Favre with 26. Manning became a fan favorite because of the fact that two of those 26 game-winning drives in the fourth have come in the Super Bowl against Tom Brady and the New England Patriots.

Favre isn't wrong with any of his praise of Jones — the rookie didn't seemed fazed by an ever-collapsing pocket around him. He stood strong and made timely and accurate throws to his receivers. Even with New York's top weapon Saquon Barkley going down with an ankle injury and Jones facing an 18-point halftime deficit, the rookie kept calm and delivered his first game-winning drive in his first career start.

Jones threw for 336 with two scores coming through the air and another two on the ground. Jones' two rushing touchdowns exceeded the amount Manning has had for his entire career. New York fans, and Favre, are hoping that Jones can continue his impressive play as he faces the Washington Redskins next week.
