Damon Harrison is officially a member of the Detroit Lions after the New York Giants traded him for a fifth-round pick. Snacks’ departure has opened up a roster spot for the Giants, which they have filled by promoting wide receiver Corey Coleman from the practice squad, per Adam Schefter.

Coleman, the former 15th overall pick by the Cleveland Browns in 2016, was signed to the Giants’ practice squad just last week.

The young wideout has bounced around this season and is now in his fourth team in a matter of months. After being traded by the Browns to the Bills in preseason, he was cut just before the start of the regular season. He then spent time with the Patriots and their practice squad. Unfortunately, he was also let go.

Coleman has been a major disappointment relative to his draft position, having played just 19 games over his first two years in the league due to broken hands. He’s recorded 56 catches for 718 yards and five touchdowns.

Coleman will now be competing with the likes of Bennie Fowler and Russell Shepard for playing time behind starters Odell Beckham Jr. and Sterling Shepard in the Giants’ wide receiver depth chart.

With the Giants heading nowhere at 1-6, Coleman could have the opportunity to play and showcase himself for the Giants or any other team who might be in need of another receiver.
