New York Giants fans didn't seem to want Daniel Jones on draft night, but now that he is the teams starting quarterback, stores can't keep his jersey in stock.

Via Michael McCarthy of FrontOfficeSports.com, Jones is the hottest selling jersey in the NFL right now. Fanatics, an NFL apparel provider sold more Jones jersey's in a two-hour period on Sunday than they did of any other player for the entire day besides Patrick Mahomes.

Jones jersey first started to soar when it was announced last Thursday that he would be taking over the starting job from Eli Manning. Once he looked impressive on the field, Giants fans locked on, and the jerseys sales took off.

According to a couple of business experts, this isn't surprising because Giants fans are trying to lock onto any hope they can and if he continues to play well the sky is the limit for the marketing around Jones.

“New York is so desperate for a winning football team that anything close to a white knight can name their price,” said Adamson, who also serves as an adjunct professor at the NYU Stern School of Business. “Any ray of hope is going to sell like hotcakes.”

It was only one week, but Jones should have a chance to have a lot of success on Sunday against the Washington Redskins that was shelled by the Bears offense on Monday Night Football.

If they win on Sunday, the talk of the town is all going to be about “Danny Dimes” and his play.
