New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning is likely to start in his team's Week 15 matchup with the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, according to Ralph Vacchiano of SNY.

Vacchiano notes that rookie signal-caller Daniel Jones has not been ruled out just yet, but given that he is nursing a high-ankle sprain, it doesn't seem all that probable that he will be able to go.

Manning made his first start since Week 2 this past Monday against the Philadelphia Eagles and got off to a very strong start, completing 11 of his 19 throws for 179 yards and a couple of touchdowns in the first half. However, during the second half, Manning slowed down considerably, going 4-for-11 with 24 yards in what ended up being a 23-17 overtime loss.

Jones suffered his injury during the Giants' loss to the Green Bay Packers in Week 13, and there seems to be a chance that Jones could be out for the season, which would give Manning the chance to have a farewell tour, even if he has been against the idea o of a swan song.

Should Manning start this weekend, it would be in front of what is sure to be a raucous home crowd that could be giving Manning his final sendoff, as the Giants only have one more home game after Week 15, which comes in Week 17 in their second matchup with the Eagles.

Up until being replaced by Jones in Week 3, Manning had been New York's starting quarterback since midway through his rookie campaign back in 2004.

During that span, Manning led the Giants to a pair of Super Bowl victories, both coming at the expense of Tom Brady and the New England Patriots. The 38-year-old also notched Super Bowl MVP honors both times.

Big Blue is just 2-11 on the season.
