Tom Brady is the greatest quarterback in the history of the NFL, and very few people would debate that. However, when he retires from the game, he will likely always get the shivers whenever he hears the name of one player in particular.

That player is Eli Manning.

Brady has six Super Bowl rings and has been to nine Super Bowls overall. However, two of his three losses came to Manning and the New York Giants.

Well, Manning won't have the chance to actively haunt Brady anymore. He officially announced his retirement on Friday. And Brady took the opportunity to congratulate Manning on Twitter while also throwing in a funny little jab in the process:

During his retirement press conference on Friday, Manning reacted to Brady's tweet in typical Eli fashion:

“We joke about it a little bit, but it's not real funny to him,” said Manning, according to Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated.

Manning added that those games were about a whole lot more than just the Brady-Manning matchup.

All joking aside, a big reason why Manning will likely make the Hall of Fame one day is because both of his Super Bowl titles came at the expense of the GOAT.

Manning's first triumph came during the 2007-08 campaign. That's when he led the Giants to a shocking upset win over the 18-0 Patriots. He took home Super Bowl MVP honors in the process.

Then, four years later, Manning topped Brady again, becoming just the fifth player in NFL history to win multiple Super Bowl MVP awards.

Manning spent his entire 16-year career with the Giants and ends his NFL tenure seventh all-time in passing yards, seventh in completions, seventh in passing touchdowns and first in Brady's nightmares.
