Daniel Jones has only been with the New York Giants a few weeks but tight end Evan Engram is impressed with how fast the rookie quarterback is picking up the offense. Appearing at the CC Sabathia and Friends Celebrity Softball Game Ingram said coaches are trying to throw things at Jones to get him off his rhythm and he has taken it in stride.

“He’s picking up [the offense] really fast,” Giants tight end Evan Engram said via nj.com. “They’ve been trying to throw some stuff at him and he’s handled it really well.”

Jones was praised during his time at Duke for how well he handled different pressures thrown at him so it's really not a surprise to see him picking it up in the NFL.

Giants offensive coordinator was also impressed and thought if he was on a team where they needed him to start week one, he would be able to.

“I think he’d be ready to go,” Shula said Wednesday at the Quest Diagnostics Training Center. “That’s my personal opinion. I do.”

But the Giants have Eli Manning and the expectation is he will be the guy to start the season, the only thing unclear is how long of a leash he will have. Engram has also been impressed with what he has seen out of Manning so far.

“Eli looks really good,” Engram said. “He’s moving around. He’s doing everything he’s asked. He’s making all the throws. He looks like Eli. He’s doing good.”

It's only early in the offseason workouts but it's good that both Giants quarterbacks are looking strong.
